Online International Conference: "Good Governance and Anti-Corruption: Opportunities and Challenges in the Era of Digital Technology"

23 Jul 2020

27-28 October 2020 (Tuesday and Wednesday, 2.30pm - 6.30pm Hanoi Time - GMT+7)

The School of Law at Vietnam National University Hanoi, Centre for Criminal Justice and Human Rights at the University College Cork School of Law (Ireland) and the School of Law, Politics and Sociology, University of Sussex (UK) will host an Online International Conference, "Good Governance and Anti-Corruption: Opportunities and Challenges in the Era of Digital Technology” from 27-28 October 2020.

The conference aims to provide a forum for scholars around the world to discuss both theoretical and practical issues of good governance and anti-corruption in the context of the era of digital technology, as well as fostering international collaborations. The conference will take place online via the Google Meet platform and will be hosted by UCC.

We are inviting scholars working in this area to submit abstracts or to propose panels that would fit within the broad theme of the conference title. To assist in this process, we ask that scholars consider one or more of the following questions:

  • What opportunities and challenges has digital technology posed for good governance and anti-corruption? This question invites reflection on both public and private sectors, national, regional and international levels as well as sector or country-based insights.
  • How can opportunities to improve good governance and anti-corruption be harnessed in this context? and/or
  • How can challenges be addressed?
  • What national/regional/international standards and mechanisms have been adopted to assist in this process? And what examples of best practice can be shared?

In terms of the development of technologies and sciences within the remit of this conference the Board of Organizers suggests, inter alia, that special reference be made to advancements in digital technology and artificial intelligence.
